T-Mobile said Wednesday that it has launched a high-speed “Internet 4G” service in the Czech Republic. The service speeds range from 512 Kbps to 1 Mbps.
The speeds -- the 1 Mbps speed isn't guaranteed -- are in line with 3G mobile services that are being rolled out globally.
The Czech service is bolstered by UMTS TD-CDMA technology from IPWireless, which said the service enables subscribers to surf the Web, watch video, download music, and transfer large files at broadband speeds.
The T-Mobile service utilizes the 1900 MHz spectrum. T-Mobile is a unit of Deutsche Telekom.
