Skype today announced four WiFi phones that will let Skype users make free Skype calls using any WiFi network. The phones will be preloaded with Skype software and will let consumers make free calls to traditional landlines and lowcost calls to mobile phones.
The phones will all be available this quarter. The WiFi Skype phones will be made by Belkin ($. list price) EdgeCore ($ list price) Netgear (from $ list price) and SMC ($ list price).
Several of the phones are already available outside the U.S. The SMC WiFi Phone for Skype for example has been selling in Asia for a retail price of $.
