Video games, music and TV mix it up on Turner Broadcasting's newly revamped GameTap service. Among the new offerings available on the broadband network (www.gametap.com, $9.95 per month) is the GameTap 10 TV show in which each month musicians count down their favorite games. Fall Out Boy is the first guest for host Dee Snider (former Twisted Sister lead singer); upcoming guests include Joe Nichols, Dem Franchize Boyz and Nick Cannon.
Also on the network's new music channel is Game Pads, an MTV Cribs-style show that focuses on video games (rock band Simple Plan is the first guest; future ones include Muckrakers and Hoobastank).Other TV programs include Space Ghost Coast to Coast and, later this spring, a new animated series from Soup2Nuts, the creators of The Cartoon Network's Home Movies .
A Games channel previews games such as Crazy Taxi, Ghouls 'N Ghosts, Populous, Oregon Trail and Baldur's Gate. In all, GameTap TV has 250 videos and more than 400 video games available on demand. Newcomers can explore the service with a two-week free trial. "We creating and acquiring programming for the broadband audience," says GameTap general manager Stuart Snyder.
