SWsoft Inc. on Tuesday will introduce the latest version of its virtualization software, which is designed to provide a "zero downtime" platform for moving virtual servers between physical servers without end-user disruption.
SWsoft is releasing Virtuozzo for Linux 3.0 and Virtuozzo for Windows 3.5.1. The "zero-downtime migration" capability is one of several new features in the Virtuozzo for Linux offering, which also includes new template management, streamlined resource management, and expanded operating support for enhanced performance and automation, said Serguei Beloussov, chief executive of SWsoft.
"With these new capabilities we are bringing the advantages of efficient virtualization technology to an even wider range of organizations by making it even easier to configure and administer highly available virtual servers," Beloussov said in a statement.
The zero-downtime migration feature captures the state of an existing virtual server and its contents and migrates it to a new physical sever without disruption in service or availability.
Virtuozzo for Linux 3.0 and Virtuozzo for Windows 3.5.1 are available now price starting at $1,000 per processor with management tools and $1,000 per seat for unlimited servers.
